April Is Earth Month - CCL's Best Opportunity For Outreach

Average Rating:

April is usually our biggest month for Grassroots Outreach, and with the Energy Innovation Act in play in Congress, we have lots to talk about. Leading a presentation this month? Your audience may be especially receptive to learning about the Energy Innovation Act if they know that someone they trust likes the bill, so consider adding a few of these "Trusted Messenger" slides to your deck.

If you are tabling, like Atlanta Group Leader Henry Slack is doing in the photo above, you can visit the Resources Page on Community to print a stack of hot-off-the-presses Energy Innovation Act Fact Sheets, Constituent Comment Forms, and CCL Brochures.

If every chapter reports 2-3 outreach events this month, we will reach our goal of 2,000 outreach events year-to-date by April 30! The Field Report form is easy to find on your Community Dashboard under "My Tools” and only takes a few minutes to complete.

New for April! You can extend the impact of your outreach work to your members of Congress by doing the social media action in our April Action Sheet (cclusa.org/actionsheet). The action gives you simple instructions for tweeting a photo of your outreach event and tagging your member of Congress to draw their attention to your work and raise their awareness of the Energy Innovation Act. And if you include the hashtag #GrassrootsClimate in your tweet, CCL may include your photos in Earth Day tweets from HQ. To get started using Twitter, check out our new 3-minute “Sending a tweet” video.

Lots of people are tuned into Earth Month during April, so this is the perfect time to schedule presentations, table at events, and tweet photos of you and your fellow climate activists doing outreach to your Congress members.
