Inclusive Language in Everyday Life - Session 1
5
Note: The days of the workshop sessions were moved this month due to Father's Day

You are invited to the 3rd D&I Education and Roundtable Discussion Series hosted by CCL’s Inaugural Diversity Fellows.

The June topic will be: Inclusive Language in Everyday Life. This month we will focus on the power of language. We will address othering vs. belonging, microagressions, accessibility and ableism, what it means to be gender inclusive and how it all relates to climate work and advocacy.

The series takes place the 3rd and 4th Sunday of each month and it is open to all volunteers. The 3rd Sunday session is a workshop where anyone can learn about a diversity topic. The 4th Sunday is a discussion session where we can explore what we learned.

The purpose of this series is to facilitate brave spaces for discussion and create places where people can learn from one another. Additionally, we want to diminish feelings of tokenism, center marginalized voices within our organization, and make sure BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and disabled folks’ concerns are prioritized within CCL.

We hope that this series can encourage dialogue and belonging for current and future BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and disabled members.

Future topics in the series includes: sexuality, gender and equity in the workplace, ableism, diversity & inclusion and others.
