Reposted from the Group Leaders forum.

We tabled at a Maker Faire today. The Faire organizer encouraged us to make something in addition to letters to congress and simulated climate solutions on EnRoads.
We decided to make origami frogs. It was popular enough that I got cramps in my hands. I don't know if it was more effective at reaching people than our traditional approach, but our chapter members seemed to enjoy it.
If anyone would like to try it, I have attached the template we used. The 8.5"x 11" page is cut on the dotted line to make an 8.5" x 8.5" square. The QR code on the belly goes to CitizensClimateLobby.org
Here's the template in Google Slides if you'd like to customize it. Climate Froggy-2.pdf
The thinnest green printer paper that our local Staples had was easier to fold, but the shade of green wasn't as nice as the thicker paper used for the frog in the picture.
Here's a link to the folding instructions. They really do jump.

I realized that in my rush to re-post the Frog instructions during the class, the template link and attachment didn't make it. It should be attached as a pdf now.

Here's the template as a Google Slides file.
@Steven Selby Thanks! I have printed out 50 of the templates and hope to fold maybe half of them by Earth Day, to give to attendees and hopefully train others. I've watched the video but am wondering if there are printed directions? I'm not sure how to position the QR code and eyes in relation to the first fold. Ideas? Has anyone else made these and have suggestions?
Hi @Leslie Sand, After folding the 8.5 inch square in half, those first two diagonal folds on the head should be away from the printed side. Each time you do the diagonal fold, the QR code goes to the bottom. I'm fairly confident that's right. No matter what, just try a few.
One of our chapter members wrote up instructions last year. Here they are as a pdf file. MAKING A FROG.pdf
I don't know if it's clear, but after printing the frog template, you have to cut on the dotted line just above the QR to make an 8.5 inch by 8.5 inch square. Then you fold the square in a half so all of the printing is on one side (on the outside) of the resulting rectangle.
I hope your frogs come out great. Thanks for letting me know you're doing it. If you have any problems, let me know. I think we'll be making frogs too.
@Steven Selby
I made a template that incorporates a bookmark into the cut-off part of the printed page.
I also have illustrated instructions:
and if you prefer traditional grayscale illustrated instructions, here's a file I found online: traditional-origami-jumping-frog-pdf-instructions-1.pdf
@Dennis Yi Great instructions and addition to the template. I wonder if there's someway all these files could be stored together on Community so people could find them.
