Iowa CCL Statewide Meeting - Revitalizing Citizen Climate Advocacy:

The Iowa CCL Statewide Meeting in Marshalltown is a chance to connect with fellow Iowans and revitalize citizen climate advocacy across the state. It is a chance for those curious about Citizens Climate Lobby (CCL) to learn more about this non-partisan climate advocacy organization.

This year’s meeting will take place on Saturday July 8th from 9:00 am-4:30 pm Iowa time in the conference center at Iowa Valley Community College in Marshalltown. We will be meeting in Rooms 608 and 610 of the Iowa Valley conference center.

Our keynote speaker will be Mark Reynolds, former CCL executive director and current member of the CCL Governing Board, who came to Iowa to help launch chapters in Iowa City and Des Moines.

The agenda will also include: a session on congressional advocacy strategy; a panel discussion with Partners for Climate Solutions including speakers from Iowa Interfaith Power & Light, the Iowa Environmental Council, the Clean Energy Districts of Iowa, and the Sierra Club Beyond Coal campaign; and breakout sessions on permitting reform (alternatives to fossil fuels and the electric grid), how climate change is likely to impact Iowa, CCL's tools to become more effective advocates, and strategies to increase citizen and community engagement.
