Hi, we are a small but active chapter, and we welcome new volunteers from all over Belgium.
The Fit For 55 package - the European Commission's proposal to reduce emissions by 55% by 2030 has been called the most ambitious proposal ever.
The Citizens' Climate Lobby is optimistic but critical of the proposal. We are missing important principles such as: a uniform carbon price, across all sectors of the economy, without exceptions and loopholes, and solid support for all families to help them achieve the energy transition. Policies must also be simple and transparent to minimize the risk of misuse of public funds, and to maintain democratic control over policies and money flows.
From September 2021 we will lobby again at Belgian and EU level to defend these principles.
