CCL Milwaukee West is a busy chapter that puts a premium on working together and staying connected with each other.

Last year, the chapter wrote around 500 postcards to voters, completing many of those during three writing parties at their chapter members’ homes. They also got together for a hike at the local nature preserve. Heading into 2025, the chapter is searching out and uplifting stories of how the Inflation Reduction Act has benefitted Wisconsinites.

Their connection and coordination goes beyond their individual chapter, too. CCL Milwaukee West holds their meetings virtually in conjunction with the Milwaukee and Waukesha chapters, helping all three chapters be even more strategic and effective together. Last fall, they joined a viewing party for CCL’s fall conference hosted by the Waukesha chapter.

And group leader Mike Arney also brought people together in support of CCL with a bike ride fundraiser. In the lead-up to CCL’s year-end fundraiser a few months ago, he pledged to bike 300 miles in order to raise $300 for CCL. “That's 13 miles per day, a fair bit more than what I do now,” he shared on his PledgeIt fundraiser page.

“I reached $300 quicker than I thought possible,” Mike said, thanking everyone for their contributions and reflecting on his efforts. “All this biking is great. The exercise and stress-reduction benefits are just what I was looking for. Being public about it is a stretch, but I'm very happy and grateful for the gifts to Citizens’ Climate Lobby.”

Thanks for your creativity and all your contributions to the cause, Mike and CCL Milwaukee West!
