CCLers are on Capitol Hill today! This week is our 5th annual Conservative Climate Leadership Conference and Lobby Day in D.C., which means right-of-center CCLers are meeting with Republican offices throughout the day. Their goal? To build more Republican support for clean energy and climate policies that we need from Congress. We’re asking Republican lawmakers to…

  • Preserve clean energy tax credits 🔋

  • Support the bipartisan Fix Our Forests Act 🌲

  • Explore foreign pollution tariff legislation 💰

Yesterday, these lobby day attendees received training from CCL’s Executive Director Rachel Kerestes so they’re ready to make persuasive arguments for these policies in their meetings today. (And don't forget — this summer, our annual Summer Conference & Lobby Day will give CCLers of every political stripe a chance to meet with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle.)

Head to CCL’s Instagram to see clips and posts from the conference and lobby day so far. Then join CCL’s March meeting this Saturday, where we will hear from a panel of CCL staffers for a look behind the scenes at our conference and lobby day. We’ll talk to:

  • Vice President of Government Affairs Jenn Tyler

  • Congressional Liaison Program Manager Mindy Ahler

  • Action Team Director Drew Eyerly

Jenn, Mindy and Drew will share insights into our lobbying asks, the impact of getting together in D.C., and the ripples we’re already seeing from our conversations on Capitol Hill.

Plan to join us this Saturday!

Take action this week

Support CCL with a monthly donation: At last night’s State of the Union address, President Trump touted rollbacks of climate measures and reiterated his intention to double down on fossil fuel development. His administration’s actions in the last few weeks have indeed put America’s climate progress in peril and given fossil fuels a major boost. At CCL, we’re continuing the fight for a healthy climate by pushing Congress forward — but we need your help.

For March ONLY, angel donors have stepped up to match all new and increased monthly donations 4-to-1 for March, April and May. This is a huge opportunity for our climate advocacy at a time when it matters most. Your support as a volunteer has helped us get this far — thank you. Now, will you take the next step and make a monthly gift today?
