Daniel Palken made a very provocative and powerful statement in his session with Jenn at the conference. From my notes (please correct if I got anything wrong), he said:
- [The cuts in clean energy tax credits in the Reconciliation Bill, a/k/a “One Big Beautiful Bill” (OBBB)] undeniably are a meaningful setback for a number of clean energy technologies
- But.. if the IRA had not happened - then what is in the OBBB would have been the largest clean energy subsidies ever.
- And we now have stamp of Republican Party for these policies - this was passed as a purely Republican partisan Bill.
- Not ideal - but worth reflecting that there is now a suite of technologies that are clean and have extended bipartisan support
Did I capture that right? If so, this is a really powerful point to be making to our base and members. I love the “glass half full” approach.

@Mike Kelly, My notes aren't great, but that matches my recollection.
I'm wondering if this session was recorded (I know none of the sessions were streamed, but hoping they might have been recorded) – it would be wonderful to be able to listen to this talk again.
