Hi folks! For most of April, CCL’s Appalachia Regional Coordinator Jon Clark has been traveling across Tennessee and Kentucky on Earth Week outreach tours.
The Tennessee Earth Week Tour 2022 kicked off on April 13 and ran through April 24, and Jon hit the road in his electric car with TN state coordinator Don Kraus. Jon and Don’s tour stops ran the gamut: public presentations at libraries and churches, tabling at Earth Day-themed events, CCL chapter meetings, a creative outreach event at a local rock climbing gym, and even a newspaper editorial board meeting. The Kentucky Earth Week 2022 tour launched on Earth Day and runs through April 30 and features similar events — just with a little more barbecue and bourbon!
Another cool feature of these tours is that Jon and other local volunteers have been thoroughly documenting them on social media. They have posted photos and updates on Twitter all along the way, demonstrating how to get even more mileage from our grassroots outreach efforts. Here’s a roundup of some posts from the tours so you can see and share them. Consider posting something similar the next time you and your chapter do grassroots outreach!
