It is perplexing to some of us that the EICDA isn't getting more coverage in the traditional news media, which would in turn allow for more opportunities for LTEs, op-eds, and even editorials. Is CCL doing anything along the lines of a press releases, for example when co-sponsors are added to the bill? The 20th cosponsor would be a good milestone perhaps. We could then pass it along to the news desks at our local dailies.Â

Hi Kyle,
Absolutely we are! Just yesterday I sent out an email to all of my contacts in broadcast, radio, and podcasts to alert them of the 20-member milestone and nudge them for coverage. I got a positive response from a producer of a show at MSNBC who may be interested in doing some coverage of CCL/the bill around our June conference, and I have a call set up with the editor of Yale Climate Connections on Friday about potentially doing a series about carbon pricing or the bill itself. I also have been working for several weeks to solidify a major CNN interview with two of the bill sponsors---that's just been an issue of timing and lining up the members' schedules. There's lots going on behind the scenes, but rest assured we are definitely pushing at the national level!Â
In terms of alerting your local reporters, you can absolutely use the 20-member milestone as an excuse to reach out to them. You might direct them to this original national press release (https://citizensclimatelobby.org/bipartisan-carbon-pricing-bill-reintroduced-in-house/) and in your actual email, draw their attention to the growing number of sponsors and any relevant ones they might be particularly interested in. If you'd like to write up a pitch to your local folks and post it here, I'm happy to review and give you any pointers.Â
Hope that helps!

Thanks Flannery. Good to know! I will take your suggestion and send that blog post to our local D.C. desk editor.Â
