CCL's Year-End Fundraiser kicks off on Giving Tuesday, December 3rd! But you can start organizing your Activity-a-thon challenge in November to raise funds for CCL - below is a list of ideas for your Activity-a-thon and there will be information on how to use Pledge It in our November Action Sheet (cclusa.org/actionsheet) on November 4.
Donations made in November count toward our Year-end Fundraiser.
1. Milestone Challenges
- Personal Challenges: Set up milestones where you'll complete specific tasks as the fundraising hits key targets. For example, promise to run a mile on a trail or track for every $500 raised or pledge to shave your head or dye your hair at a high target.
- Collaborative Milestones: Involve your community by setting fun group challenges, like getting a team to complete an off-road relay or obstacle course once you hit a certain amount.
2. Virtual Event-a-thon
- Online Exercise Marathon: Host a virtual yoga, spin, or fitness marathon, encouraging friends and family to sponsor you by pledging per hour or session.
- Gaming for Good: Livestream a gaming marathon where donors pledge based on your achievements, like reaching certain levels or completing difficult tasks.
- Cooking Challenge: Pledge to bake or cook something unusual or difficult for every milestone, and share photos or videos to keep donors engaged.
3. Skill Challenge with a Twist
- Learn-a-Skill Pledge: Commit to learning a skill like painting, singing, or juggling and share your progress. Donors can pledge per hour you spend practicing or per milestone achieved (like learning a new song or finishing a painting).
- Trivia or Quiz Night: Host a virtual trivia night where donors pledge per correct answer or round. You can even make questions about your cause or organization.
4. Adventure & Exploration
- "Peak for Pledges" Hiking or Climbing Challenge: Commit to trail walking to the top of local hills and get pledges per elevation gain or peak completed.
- Neighborhood Cleanup: For every set amount raised, pledge to organize a beach, park or shore cleanup. Share your progress and photos to show impact.
5. Creative Arts Fundraiser
- Artwork for Donors: Offer to create a piece of art, like a small drawing, poem, or song, for every donation over a certain amount. Share the pieces online or send them to donors.
- Digital Art Auction: Create or curate digital art pieces that reflect your mission or campaign and auction them to supporters as limited-time offers.
6. Fundraising Dares
- Dare Marathon: Allow your top donors to suggest (within reason!) dares for you to complete and share on social media.
- Shoutouts: For every pledge, thank the donor with a unique shoutout, dance, or personalized message.
7. Interactive Goals with Community Involvement
- Vote for the Dare: Create a list of dares or challenges and let donors vote with their dollars on what they’d like to see you do.
- Matching Donor Challenge: Invite supporters to match funds or offer to match every dollar raised on a specific day or milestone, incentivizing larger contributions.
