The Energy Innovation Act was introduced because everyday Americans asked Congress to work together to solve climate change.

You know that. We know that. After this event, Capitol Hill will know it, too.

This year, CCL will host a public event in Washington, D.C. during lobby day. The goals are to reveal the grassroots power behind the Energy Innovation Act, and amplify the conversations happening in lobby meetings. If you are not able to lobby this year, you will still have impact on lobby day.

At the event, you’ll represent your hometown as a voice for climate action in a public way. You can participate by sharing your story, and recording a video message for your member of Congress in a Capitol Hill setting. We’ll have a digital media studio to record, process and post content on social media from this event throughout the day. If public speaking isn’t your thing, don’t worry! You can enjoy the event as a spectator, or participate by helping to create and share a custom fabric square that represents your Congressional District.

As part of the event, we’d like every Congressional District to prepare a square of fabric that represents your hometown, and why you care about climate change. You’ll simply do a design on an 8.5x11 sheet of paper, send it in, and we’ll process it onto a piece of fabric to represent your district on the day of the event. Contact Jamie DeMarco to learn more or volunteer.  (link to flyer)
