As the budget reconciliation process continues, with House committees beginning to release and vote on their draft portions of the bill, more and more lawmakers are speaking up on the fate of the clean energy tax credits.

Last Thursday, a new support letter emerged from 26 House Republicans. They named a few specific tax credits (45U, 45Y, and 48E) that they want to see stay in place.

CCL Research Manager Dana Nuccitelli explains, “Sections 45Y and 48E are the clean electricity tax credits. 45U is a tax credit for existing nuclear power production, which we also support.”

That same day, though, a different group of Republicans signed an opposition letter. In this letter, 38 House Republicans called for a full repeal of all the tax credits in the Inflation Reduction Act.

Read today’s new blog post to get the full scoop on the opposition’s arguments, see the names of the new supporters, and learn how CCL is mobilizing in this moment.
