Electrify Your Home: No flames, no fumes, no fuss.

CCL is talking to people in communities across the country about electrifying their homes. Why? Because we want everyone to know there are cutting edge clean energy options available right now — and there are ways to save money on them, too.

Why Talking About Electrification Matters

A couple of years ago, Congress took a big step to make clean energy more accessible and affordable for everyday people. That big step was a piece of legislation called the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). But most folks don’t know about the bill or how it can help them.

The IRA included lots of financial incentives for home upgrades — that means thousands of dollars back in your pocket when you change an appliance for a heat pump version, install rooftop solar, or make energy efficient improvements. Electrification is a very localized issue. People tend to trust their friends and family when it comes to these swaps. Our conversations can help people understand their options - and the savings that come with them.

3 Reasons to Electrify Today

Fossil fuels are literally prehistoric. Bring your home into the modern age with electrification and reap the benefits of cleaner, safer energy.

👷‍♀️

Safety

With fossil fueled appliances in our home, the air we breathe inside is often dirtier than the air outside of them.

Electrifying helps ensure your home is a safe haven, rather than a safety hazard.

💡

Performance

Outdated, fossil fueled appliances use energy less efficiently, which drives up your energy usage — and your bills.

When you electrify, your appliances will perform better and save you money in the long run.

💸

Affordability

Your wallet will thank you for electrifying your home. The incentives from the IRA make it more affordable than ever.

Don’t leave money on the table — take advantage of these incentives today!

Try saying THIS 😃

  • "There are a bunch of clean energy options for your home that are already on the market. Have you ever heard of a [heat pump], [induction stove], [other electric appliance]?"
  • "Upgrading to electric appliances can make the air inside cleaner and safer for your family."
  • "Did you know electrification can save you money on your utility bills? And you can get tax breaks, too!"

Instead of THAT 🤐

  • Don't use words and phrases like "ban" or "get rid of" when referencing fossil-fueled appliances.
  • Don't start with unachievable goals, like a full home remodel.
  • Don't immediately open with climate change or the environment. People want to know how to save money and be safe at home. Turn the conversation to climate change if/when it makes sense.
