A central consideration for policymakers today is affordability. On the surface, this is a problem for carbon pricing, because the whole point is to change behavior through higher prices on pollution. However, carbon prices also raise a lot of money, and how policymakers use that money can have a big impact on affordability. This webinar will cover some recent research from RFF on the carbon pricing/affordability nexus, including research that shows how carbon price revenues can actually improve affordability.
