It’s our favorite week of the year  CCL volunteers and staff just wrapped up our 2026 Summer Conference and Lobby Day in D.C., with around 850 CCLers in attendance from all 50 states. At our conference on Monday, we had a busy day of lobby preparations and programming, including hearing from keynote speaker Jigar Shah. Then we held more than 400 meetings with congressional offices on Capitol Hill on Tuesday, focused on bipartisan permitting reform to unlock America's clean energy potential, climate-friendly forestry policy, and funding for the U.S. Forest Service.

The messages we brought in our meetings were reinforced by calls from CCL volunteers and supporters back home, who made 2,247 calls to offices on Monday alone! If you would like to support our asks, it’s still helpful to make a call through the end of this week. Our online tool identifies your Members of Congress based on your address and provides a simple, short script to follow.

Call Congress

Thanks to everyone who called to boost the impact of this year's citizen lobbyists, pictured above at the Library of Congress. (Our usual photo location, the Capitol steps, was inaccessible this year due to Sen. Graham’s funeral.)

You can see more conference and lobby day photos in our "Lobby Day" Instagram highlightacross social media, or in this slideshow. If you were with us in D.C. and haven’t yet posted or sent us your own photos, please do!  Feel free to also share your story with CCL's Press Release templates locally.

We'll be back in your inboxes next week with a full newsletter and additional actions you can take to continue to support climate and clean energy progress.

July 15, 2026 CCL is well-known for our big annual Lobby Day on Capitol Hill — but did you know we're on Capitol Hill at other times, too? Just this week, 10 CCLers attended a targeted day of advocacy in D.C. in partnership with our friends at Dream.org. These volunteers came to D.C. from elsewhere on the East Coast, like New Jersey, New York, Florida, and ... more
