Our hearts go out to everyone in Kentucky who was affected by the devastating tornadoes over the weekend. We wanted to share some updates from CCLers on the ground in the state. These folks work so hard for climate solutions, and now they are dealing with a fresh round of climate impacts in their own backyard.
- Fred S. says, "We are safe. Our house is intact but a garage apartment that we rent was destroyed. Of the 40 mature trees that we have on our property, we lost 10. I have no idea when power will be restored. It is going to take a long time for the community to recover."
- Gary V. says, "We are without [power] for looks like 2 weeks. Lots of damage. Having family come to help with clean up. Large number of large trees down. Will be 'off' for some time."
- Manolo M. says, "My family and I are ok, but have co-workers and friends that lost everything. A co-worker even lost a house he was almost done building, so it's been rough."
Please keep these CCLers, their families, and all the affected communities in your thoughts.
