Have you ever felt like your local chapter is burning out, people are showing up to meetings less, or there is a general feeling of disconnection? You may be interested in learning about or becoming a Group Resilience Coordinator (GRC). A GRC keeps their chapters connected and strong, helps make meetings more enjoyable, and builds relationships within the group. I think this is such an important role to have as a CCL volunteer, and it is now officially listed as a volunteer opportunity at CCL! Â I've been going to the GRC trainings for the past few months and I've learned valuable ways to integrate resilience into my local chapter, such as facilitating engaging group activities, providing more opportunities for connection, and making actions fun. If you would like to spread the word and encourage people in your group to sign up to be a GRC, you can use this email template to help you out. Â Â Â
If you're curious about how you might also help your chapter build stronger connections with the community and help encourage people to talk about climate change, we have also added new resources to the Climate Anxiety Counseling Booth. This booth, inspired by the Peanuts cartoon, is a great way to spark discussions about climate change and how people are feeling. The new resources at the bottom offer engagement tips and conversation starters, as well as a resilience resource quarter-sheet to hand out to people.
These are just a few ideas and resources, I'd love to hear any other ideas about how you can make your local chapters more resilient, connected, and engaged below! And, feel free to talk about any experiences you've had in your chapter regarding burnout, decreased participation, overwhelm, etc.Â
Happy holidays,
Tupelo
