The Southeast Regional Conference was hosted on the beautiful Agnes Scott College Campus in Decatur, Georgia, where over 100 folks came out to support climate action. It was the first CCL conference experience for many of the folks who came, including over two dozen students from across the region.

Nathaniel Smith from the Partnership for Southern Equity gave a fantastic keynote speech, focusing on equity as an integral part of climate work. Dr. Kim Cobb from Georgia Tech translated her work with corals in the Pacific Ocean to what it means for Georgia. Professor Stefano Carattini from Georgia State gave real life global examples of how pricing pollution changes behavior. Adam Betuel, the Conservation Director for the Atlanta Audubon Society, shared eye-opening information about how our changing climate affects various bird species. CCL staff led sessions on connecting with conservatives, moving a bill through Congress, and using Twitter to amplify our lobbying efforts.

The conference was informative and inspiring, and folks left ready for action!

Still looking for a local conference to attend? State conferences are happening in Wisconsin, Oregon and Idaho this month! See the full lineup here.
