Educate your community by writing a letter-to-the-editor (LTE) on the topic of healthy forests, which is one of the policies in CCL's policy agenda.
To have the best chance of being published, respond in your letter to something forest or nature related in the news. When you see coverage, you could write that America’s forests are natural climate solutions that reduce the impacts of climate change. You can also include the names of your members of Congress in your letter and ask them to support solutions that harness natural resources like forests to fight climate change.
If you need help crafting your letter on healthy forests, check out our training “Writing Effective Letters to the Editor”.
If you submit your letter directly to your local traditional or online newspaper, be sure to log it in the Action Tracker. You can also use our helpful LTE Tool to easily submit your letter to all your local newspapers.
