This article is primarily about how new satellite-based data gathering allows much more accurate assessments of the carbon-storing capacity of forests. It's very cool technology and that alone makes it worth the read. But as I kept reading I came to realize that the real story is the importance of good policy, which is why I decided to post it here.
Plus you just gotta love how they pronounce the name of their technological marvel:
