Our chapter (Ann Arbor, MI), in collaboration with the local chapter of Wild Ones, is hosting a free virtual event on June 18 at 7pm ET with a keynote by Douglas Tallamy, author of Homegrown National Park. Â The forum will explore how mini-forests of native trees and shrubs can help address biodiversity loss, tree inequity, and climate change. We are also working with the City of Ann Arbor to plant two of these mini forests, also called pocket forests, this fall. Please feel free to share this event with your chapter! Â Click here to register.Â
You can find out more about pocket forests, in this short video created by chapter member Barbara Lucas, or on pocketforests.org. Â
