My House MOC's environment aide would like to know more about the Manchin - Barrasso bipartisan permitting reform legislation that's going to be introduced soon in the Senate Energy & Natural Resources Committee. Do you know if there will be other cosponsors and, if so, who? What's in it? And what is the expected timeline?
It sounds like from this May 2024 article in UtilityDive, that it will contain language about interregional transmission capacity expansion and judicial review reform. I'm planning on sending him this article but is there anything else I can tell him?
Thanks @Nancy Jacobson! That is the best available article I'm aware of for your question and next step, but I'm copying @Dana Nuccitelli to help us track this down next week after talking with Government Affairs :)

That's all we really know, @Nancy Jacobson. It will probably have something akin to BIG WIRES, some technology-specific permitting reforms (e.g. geothermal, hydro, nuclear), judicial reform, and we don't know what else because the negotiations are behind closed doors. We can't say when it will be introduced or whether it will have other co-sponsors.
