A staffer asked our team if RISEE's new funding formula would REDUCE the funds going to any Gulf coast states. (He thought maybe that the funds were currently being divided equally among the states, but with RISEE they'd be divided according to length of the states' coastlines, leaving a state with a short coastline with a loss of dollars.) Whether or not RISEE passed yesterday, I'd still like to report back to the staffer. Help, please
I don't think so, @Emily Northrop @T Todd Elvins. States currently don't get any revenue from offshore wind, and the revenue allocation based on length of shoreline only applies to the offshore wind provisions.
The changes to the Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act (GOMESA) only lift funding caps, they don't change the revenue allocation.
