Hi all, it's been an eventful and demanding election season. Regardless of your personal feelings on the election results, periods of political change can be anxiety-inducing. You and those around you are likely feeling a mix of emotions during this time. To help with this, I want to share a resource from the American Psychological Association that gives simple, yet effective tips for dealing with stress and anxiety related to the upcoming transfer of political power. This short article and the podcast linked within it discuss ways to deal with post-election stress and anxiety, such as being mindful of your media consumption, prioritizing your mental and physical health, and seeking comfort and connection in healthy ways that work for you.
As always, CCL’s Resilience Hub and our Resilience Resources Collection are available to assist you in learning skills to build your personal resilience and deal with the challenging feelings that can arise as we engage in climate advocacy, especially in this post-election season. Thank you for your work on behalf of the climate. And remember, to sustain this work, you have to take care of yourself, too. While many of our personal resilience efforts may be individual, it can also be immensely helpful to reach out to your community for help. We are here to support you!
