Hi, I'm giving a presentation tomorrow about the incentives in the IRA and included a slide about the EV tax credits, which are complicated. I'm wondering, is there a simple list of EVs that qualify for the tax credit out there? I thought I remember seeing a post about it, but couldn't find it after some searching. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to present the EV information? The many criteria are a little intimidating.
Hi @Chelsea Peterson. Yes, I put together a table of qualifying EVs in this Nerd Corner post (table also available in a Google Doc here). And we summarized the tax credit stipulations in the EVs section of the IRA home electrification opportunities training page.
@Dana Nuccitelli that is a great resource! Suggestions:
- Change it from a Google Doc to Google Sheets, so that folks can more easily copy/paste/duplicate and work with it in tabular form.
- Add a new column “Bi-directional capable?” with Yes/No for each car regarding whether or not it can provide power back to the home (as this is going to become a vitally important feature in the coming years as bi-directional chargers become more widely available)
Thanks!
@Chelsea Peterson I love that you are presenting, yay! You might find some of the slides and content that QuitCarbon has collected here to be useful, or at least inspiring, in your presentation. And, if you are willing, I'd love to add your presentation to that collection for the benefit of folks that follow in our footsteps - please let me know at Cooper@QuitCarbon.com thanks!
