Energy transition in the southwest is relying heavily on solar-battery systems. A truck carrying industrial-scale batteries overturned and caught fire, stranding many thousands of travelers in the desert heat in a remote area for at least 30 hours. No word yet on human harms, but there will probably be some. I expect we’ll be hearing about this for a while.

Thanks for posting. I followed this disaster over the weekend. The north bound interstate was closed for 47 hours. Many travelers sat in their vehicles running A/C, offering to or asking from neighbors in other cars water or food. It seems our emergency services are not prepared for the extreme weather nor the possible side effects of moving to clean energy. We still need to change the way we do life but there are many factors to keep in mind, like battery accidents.
@Craig Preston I absolutely can’t wait for the high speed electric train for the So Cal to Las Vegas route, projected to open in time for the 2028 Olympics!
