Greetings from New Mexico! I support my local high school's Eco Club in their school electrification campaign. They are taking a new (and I think savvy) approach this year by asking the school district to define the actions it will take to reach a carbon emissions reduction goal. That goal is still being discussed, but it will probably be similar to the goal set by our county Public Utilities Department of carbon neutral by 2050.
I'm wondering if there are any CCL-ers who might be interested in helping these students answer the school district's questions, which will probably include things like: how do we get started making this action plan? What are the energy efficiency actions we should taken in our specific buildings (and in what order/priority)? How do we pay for this stuff? The students are doing as much research as they can on their own, but can really use more help (and from a volunteer who has subject matter expertise in this area, which I do not).
I welcome responses to this post or at mason.saraann@gmail.com.
Hi @Sara Mason. Are you familiar with CCL's Great School Electrification Challenge campaign? https://youth.citizensclimatelobby.org/school-electrification/
