Carbon Pricing
Jan. 11, 2024 | CCL mobilized 194 calls targeted to Senators on the Senate Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee before a planned markup of the PROVE IT Act. This outreach generated 2 new cosponsors on the bill. Note that the PROVE IT Act relates to carbon pricing because it would direct the Department of Energy study and measure the carbon intensity of certain manufactured goods, which we need in order to negotiate with trading partners who have their own border carbon tariffs.
Jan. 18, 2024 | Senate EPW Committee passes the PROVE IT Act! It earned one more Republican vote than expected.
March 5 - April 2, 2024 | CCL volunteers sent 8,747 messages to Congress urging cosponsorship of the PROVE IT Act.
June 4 - July 4, 2024 | 1,870 calls to Congress building more support for the PROVE IT Act
June 11, 2024 | 442 lobby meetings at our Summer Conference and Lobby Day. The PROVE IT Act was one of the primary asks in these meetings.
July 9, 2024 | PROVE IT Act introduced in House with more than a dozen additional bipartisan cosponsors signing on after initial introduction

Clean Energy Permitting Reform
Jan. 9 - Feb. 5, 2024 | CCL generated 11,476 messages to Congress urging ongoing bipartisan work on permitting reform.
March 20, 2024 | Conservative CCL volunteers held 47 lobby meetings on Capitol Hill. Clean energy permitting reform legislation, including specific bills like the ADVANCE Act, was the primary ask in these meetings.
June 11, 2024 | 442 lobby meetings at our Summer Conference and Lobby Day. Clean energy permitting reform was one of the primary asks in these meetings.
June 18, 2024 | ADVANCE Act passed the Senate by 88-2
July 9, 2024 | ADVANCE Act signed into law.

Healthy Forest
Feb. 6 - March 4, 2024 | CCL generated 11,329 messages to Congress in defense of climate-smart agriculture and forestry funding in the next Farm Bill.
March 16, 2024 | Senate committee passes Seedlings for Sustainable Habitat Restoration Act
June 11, 2024 | 442 lobby meetings at our Summer Conference and Lobby Day. The Seedlings for Sustainable Habitat Restoration Act and the Increased TSP Access Act were both secondary asks in these meetings. The bills gained 14 new bipartisan cosponsors across our two secondary asks in the days and weeks following our lobbying.
Building Electrification and Efficiency
August 2024 | During the month of August, we launched an “Electrification Month” outreach campaign, aiming to hold 3,000 conversations to educate our communities about electrification and the tax credits available through the IRA.
Get involved with Electrification efforts by joining our Electrification Action Team and asking your State Coordinator or Regional Director what is going on in your state.
Election Engagement
Jan. 24, 2024 | In partnership with Environmental Voter Project, CCL kicked off weekly phone banking sessions to mobilize environmental voters. CCLers are also holding postcarding parties around the country, targeting turnout in primary elections. Find out more and get involved on our Election Engagement Action Team.
